Symbio and Black Box's approach is based on a detailed functional study in the early stages of control room design, focusing on interactions between operators and interactions between operators and information. This approach allows to determine the information distribution needs in the control room, both on workstations and on remote screens. And then to develop operationally satisfactory and well determined technical solutions, in terms of signal distribution, both in hardware and software.
This ensures that the technical solutions determined at this early control room design stage will best support operational activities, before Symbio even starts the later stages of control room layout determination, workstation design, lighting, acoustics and HVAC studies.
Symbio performs all these studies, including those related to the spatial distribution of information, in virtual reality, using its SymLab tool.
