Methods

Symbio differentiates itself with work methods that are appropriate both to its practice areas and to the philosophy that underlies all of its activities.

We prioritise operator safety first, and operator performance and comfort second. The latter, however, also contributes to safety.

Our approach is fundamentally global, systemic and integrated. It is centred on the human factor, and considers work spaces and life spaces as wholes (anthropometry, physical ergonomics, cognitive ergonomics, collaborative aspects), taking into account not only operational aspects, but also maintenance, accessibility of equipment, cleaning, implementation, security, etc.

We endeavour to implement a structured, explicit and scientific methodology, based on computerised or formal models of the space, equipment and factors outside the work and life spaces.

We can use the definition and utilisation of metrics to evaluate the design solutions.

We seek to apply the precepts of eco-design, at the design level itself as well as for manufacturing and implementation (“From Cradle to Cradle”).

Our approach is pluridisciplinary and cooperative: “With the people, for the people”.

We continually seek to develop ideas and solutions that are open, creative, innovative and that anticipate future evolutions.
We work with a network of subcontractors that are very flexible, adaptable, reactive and trustworthy, with whom we have collaborated for many years.
